Then Sings My Soul Saturday

Today I'm sharing two songs that meant a lot to me as a child. The first one is instrumental but one that late at night I could hear on the little radio in my Grandmother's dining room. The radio would always be on all day and night. Oh how faithful my Grandmother was in listening to WCIF 106.3 in Melbourne, Florida, Where Christ Is First. At night during the week, when Nightsounds would come on, I can still hear Bill Pearce's voice and this tune at the beginning and ending of his show.

 "Beau Soir" by Bill Pearce

This second song is one that I can remember hearing as a little girl. May you enjoy as much as I do!
Thank you Father for loving the world, that You sent Your Son Jesus to suffer for our sins, died and buried, who was raised on the third day, ascended to Heaven and now sits on the right hand of You God.

June

Hope you all are having a great summer! I haven't been around as much this week but still think of you all often and reading blogs/comments when I can. May God bless you and that this weekend is a great one. The weather is hot, hot, hot!

June has been another fast month but this week seemed to have slowed down for me but very busy for my husband. Our daughter is visiting her biological dad for the last few weeks but will be home the first week in July. I'm thankful that she is able to have some time with him and hope they are having some memorable times. I'm thankful that my schedule (not that I had one full schedule) has changed some. From sleeping a lot to now I'm having more energy to get up and actually make a routine. A routine of some time in God's word (reading through the New Testament of the Bible in a Summer Session and doing a Bible Study on Romans 8 with Precept Ministries.) and therapy times (from writing, stretching, walking and other exercises).

Speaking of walking, praise the Lord! I have had more good days this week! My walking seems to have improved some and I could have lots of moments without my cane in our apartment. This sudden change has helped me prepare my own food and drinks, deal with our cats (play toys and food/water), straighten up a few places that I hang out and put my own trash, dishes etc away. Even standing longer without as much pain, still sore but much better! I can only thank God for allowing continued progress!

Our prayer requests - Praises for progress but also for continued healing of my right side, for safe journey home of our daughter, and for God's direction for some unspoken decisions. May there be doors either open or close but His will be done.

"But those who wait on the LORD
      Shall renew
their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint."
Isaiah 40:31

Then Sings My Soul Saturday - Jesse Chasteen

"The Words I Would Say" performed by Jesse Chasteen

The Words I Would Say
Cover by Sidewalk Prophets

Three in the morning, and I'm still awake
So I picked up a pen and a page
And I started writing just what I'd say
If we were face to face

I'd tell you just what you mean to me
Tell you these simple truths

CHORUS
Be strong in the Lord
And never give up hope
You're gonna do great things
I already know
God's got His hand on You
So don't live life in fear
Forgive and forget
But don't forget why you're here
Take your time and pray
These are the words I would say

Last time we spoke you said you were hurting
And I felt your pain in my heart
I want to tell you that I keep on praying
That love will find you where you are

I know cause I've already been there
So please hear these simple truths

CHORUS

Say... from one simple life to another
I will say... come find peace in the Father

Be strong in the Lord
And never give up hope
You're gonna do great things
I already know
God's got His hand on You
So don't live life in fear
Forgive and forget
But don't forget why you're here

Take your time and pray
And thank God for each day
His love will find a way
These are the words I would say

Before my stroke...

"Before I was afflicted I went astray,
But now I keep Your word. "
Psalm 119:67

I'm studying Psalm 119 using Sweeter Than Chocolate: Psalm 119 by Pam Gillaspie - Speaker, Author and Precept Leader. This particular verse grabbed my attention.
Before my stroke I had moments that I thought I was doing well with life and even had plans to get my life back on track. Yes, I had made mistakes and more mistakes. I tried to do what was right and even what I thought I should be doing. (The going back to church, somewhat praying and reading) However, there was a problem. I didn't fully believe forgiveness. I was still in this me phase and I was on the fence, maybe even hanging on the wrong side. I didn't dig or even look... just didn't think God would forgive those horrible mistakes. I didn't know but why would God forgive me for breaking His commandments.

"Before I was afflicted I went astray" - yup that was me even from age 14 maybe younger... I wanted my way. I turned from my Lord even felt sorry for my actions but I still didn't know God's ways and His love for me. Oh I was in church at a young age and even sought to learn what I could and sing His praises every chance I got. I accepted and believed in Jesus Christ at age 7, baptized and fully loved the Lord. As I grew up. I stopped learning. I am paying for all my decisions BUT

"But now I keep Your word." - Since my stroke, when I was more aware of what was going on, I have been amazed. I'm alive. The body is a complex organ. But most important, I fully believed. I don't know what happened during my phasing in and out but I knew the most important thing was get back into God's word and learn. He has opened my eyes and brought me to the light. I'm not perfect. Anytime I do something not correct or have this stirring inside me, I ask for forgiveness. Learning more as there is so much but memorizing is one way to keep God's word along with spending time in prayer and reading. (Jeremiah 3-4 God wants us to return to Him)

Thank you Father for Your ways, testimonies, and commandments. May we learn and apply, continually learning and seeking Your ways. Thank You for loving me.

Stylish Blogger Award

Yesterday, June 2, Clint from Lyrics of Love and Lore awarded me a "Stylish Blogger Award". My first award... and I'm speechless, to a point. Thank you Clint.

I started this blog in January, not knowing what or how this journey as a blogger would go. I just wanted a place to share my story, a young lady who by God's amazing love, grace and forgiveness, of having a stroke and living to tell about the event, recovery (what I call "new growth") and all the ups and downs but also to praise the Lord. A stroke is not fun, can be very ugly, not only physically but emotionally and takes hard work and the Lord's help in healing and renewing. He is working in and through me but also opening my eyes and enlarging my heart for others. I have also met so many great people that I'm glad to call friends and dearly love!

"I will run the course of Your commandments,
For You shall enlarge my heart."

Psalm 119:32

Part of this award has a request to share 7 things about me that are not generally known. This way we learn more about others. So let's see what I can come up with:

1. Music, was and still is, a big part of my life. I started learning to play the piano at age 7 but the earliest picture of me at a piano was at age 3.

2. Besides piano, I am a singer. All my life I sang at school, church and with special groups with school, community and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

3. I grew up in South Carolina and Florida with family in both states.

4. I love Mexican food even though I'm picky.

5. I am a traveler, which right now missing, but driving just to drive and seeing new places. When we had a tornado outbreak last week, we drove 100 miles to stay away but I loved getting out and seeing the scenery. Just like on my birthday, 14th, we had to take detours to go to dinner. woot!

6. Speaking of traveling, I've been to 34 states and lived in 4.

7. I miss the 80's cartoons and older from Rocky & Bullwinkle Show, Pink Panther to The Flintstones, Jetsons and Tom & Jerry, many more.

Thank you for visiting and thanks again Clint. God bless you!
